Henry is 6 Months Old!!!

My little boy has reached a milestone today...He's 6 months old! My Summer Solstice baby continues to light up my day, even as the Winter Solstice brings cold, dreary days to us here in Utah. I truly feel so honored to be Henry's mom, and I have enjoyed watching him develop and grow...It's truly amazing!

Henry is eating solids 1-2 times a day now. He loves avocado, squash, and sweet potatoes. I have to admit that I was looking forward to nursing less, but that doesn't seem to be the case, leading me to believe that he may be having another growth spurt. Many of his clothes are 9-month-old size! I haven't weighed him recently, but Dan and I took bets, and I am guessing 19.5 pounds. Dan thinks he's over 20 pounds. By January 3, his next pediatrician appt., he could very well be!

Henry is so aware of everything that's happening around him. He gets fixated on the cat, the TV, the Christmas tree, a toy, Mommy singing (probably wondering what this crazy lady is doing). He is so observant...I may start trying to incorporate sign language soon.

Henry can pretty much sit up on his own. He's not crawling yet, but he can roll from back to front, which leads to me believe that he'll be moving soon! I haven't child-proofed that apartment yet, but I should probably look into that!

Henry is a very talkative little boy, and repeats the same sounds over and over again, like "mamamamama". His babbles and squeals are so cute! I often wonder if babies have a secret language that only they can understand between each other.

I love my little boy and can't wait to see what the next 6 months bring! Being a mom is the hardest, yet most rewarding role that I have ever taken! I never knew that I could love someone as much as I love my Henry. Happy 6 months, baby boy!

Henry will kill me for posting this one day.

Henry's First Stomach Bug

Getting some much needed rest

Last night, Dan and Henry were watching football in our bedroom, when Dan came out to the living room looking alarmed. Henry was sick! He threw up all over Dan and himself. Poor baby! He was sick all night and this morning. I called his pediatrician's office, and the assistant recommended that I stop nursing and give him Pedialyte until his tummy calmed down. He seems to be getting back to his old self, laughing and giggling when he's not sleeping (see above). This is a HUGE relief, because I was set on taking him into the clinic or the hospital if he threw up the Pedialyte.

Side note: I am so thankful to have a washer and dryer! I've washed 3 loads of vomit-covered clothes, towels, car seat covers, etc. You get the idea...
